Hostas, Hostas...

Colin and I have been working on getting the front yard and walkway back to looking good! We had about 8 hostas that lined our front walkway, but then a huge empty space leading up to the front door. We had some large hostas growing behind our fence line in the back, so Colin and I worked on a relocation project yesterday afternoon. We moved 6 hostas from the back to the front yard and our front walkway is now looking great! See the updated pics below.
We added hostas from the post to the front door.

Perfect!

My boot that I got in Castle Park, Michigan last summer.

Chutes and Ladders

Yesterday morning, Ford (my nephew) and I had a play date. I took him to Hyland Lake Park Reserve to a play area coined "Chutes and Ladders". It is a huge playground with nets, ladders, slides, swings - a kids dream! Ford was a little scared at first (everything was so high!), but after he was assured Auntie KT wasn't going to let him fall, we raced around the park. I think I was more exhausted when we were done =). Ford even got up close and personal with a frog! After the park, like any good Aunt would do, I took Ford to McDonalds for a yummy cheeseburger and fries. Here are some pictures of Ford from our day!

Ford loves his dig dig diggers!

Cheeeeeese with ketchup all over his face.
Cutest little boy in the world!

New Chandelier

We were fortunate to get a new chandelier to replace the old style 70's chandelier that came with the house. We were so excited to be able to throw that thing away! I'm looking forward to replacing our bubble lights in the kitchen as well. Hopefully, we can find something that matches with our new chandelier! Check out the old and the new one!

The Deck Project

The backyard at Jurdy Road will be under construction for the next month or so. We are adding on a screened in porch underneath our existing deck, as well as adding on a deck platform across the back of the house. We will also be building stairs down to the yard from our deck! Colin and I are looking forward to the project and even more excited that BB will be helping us out. He has done all of the planning/sketching for us =). We have spent the last couple nights cleaning out the area in the backyard and moving the concrete pile from what was underneath the deck before. Check out the BEFORE pictures. I will keep updating as the project moves along!!!!

Cleaning up the concrete.

The deck will extend to this concrete slab.

A deck platform will run all along the back of the house when it is done!

Dexter and Dad

And I'm finally posting again =). For some reason, Colin and I thought it would be funny to put a sweatshirt on Dexter. He does love the U of MN! Anyway, check out the updated pics of our boy and his best friend dad.
